Australian Muay Thai star Celest Hansen has suffered a razor-thin split decision loss at ONE Friday Fights 54 on Friday.

“The Best” took on Chilean striker Francisca Vera at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 8 in a fight that turned into another slugfest.

Hansen came out firing in the opening round, and she landed a hard right hand inside the opening 10 seconds. The round was fought at a furious pace as Vera found her range, using her length to keep the Aussie at bay and land step up knees.

Vera continued to push forward in the second frame, as she hunted knees and elbows, forcing Hansen to fight in a more reactive manner.

Hansen finally broke free late in the frame and unloaded some signature punch combinations in a spirited fight back.

The Fairtex Training Center representative set about punishing Vera as she looked to initiate the clinch in the final round in what proved to be her best round of the fight. She kept her foot on the gas to finish off the three-round war.

In what was undoubtedly a hard fight to score, it was Vera who came out with the split judges’ call, with her work landing knees and elbows from the clinch proving to be telling.

With the victory, “Miss Scarface” scored her second win on ONE’s Friday Fights platform. The 24-year-old snapped a two-fight skid in the process.

For Hansen, the defeat was her third on the bounce, although her most recent fight was a short notice opportunity against ONE interim women’s atomweight kickboxing world champion Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom.

The 30-year-old began her ONE tenure with two victories in 2023.
