Women’s Muay Thai pioneer Celest Hansen is back at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this Friday.
The Aussie atomweight will face Chilean fighter Francisca Vera at ONE Friday Fights 54 on March 8.
Hansen will be desperate to get back on the winning track, after a third round TKO loss to now-ONE women’s atomweight kickboxing world champion Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom this past October.
That defeat followed a competitive decision loss to rising Hong Kong star Yu Yau Pui less than two months prior.
The 30-year-old Hansen made a bright start to her ONE career after winning a contract in the Road to ONE tournament back in 2022.
The Fairtex Training Center representative won her first two, with a decision victory in a wild back-and-forth battle against Dani Fall following a crushing third round TKO win over Kalaked Por Muangpetch in her promotional debut.
Vera will be just as keen to arrest a two-fight skid of her own, after suffering defeats to Lisa Brierly and Nongam Fairtex in her last two ONE Friday Fights appearances.
“Miss Scarface”also made a successful debut back in February 2023, when she knocked out Gusung Fairtex in the second round.
Unlike Hansen, The Phuket Fight Club representative is not signed to the ONE roster, so another loss would leave her a long road back to contention for one of the six-figure contracts with the promotion that are on offer on the Friday Fights platform.
