Following his impressive first round KO of Jamie Mullarkey back in March, top-tier local featherweight Alex Volkanovski returns to action this Friday night against veteran Jai Bradney in front of his hometown crowd in Wollongong.
This fight will be a rematch of the pair’s first encounter back in mid 2014 under the Roshambo banner, where Volkanovski took home a quick submission victory along with the promotion’s lightweight title. A 30 plus fight veteran, Bradney will be out for redemption on the night and get back in the winner’s column after falling to Kiwi lightweight Kieran Joblin in March. The fight will be contested over five, five minute rounds in the featherweight division.
Also on the card, Sydney based Sonny Brown returns from a lengthy hiatus to take on Storm Damage veteran Dave Fowler. A former Brace champion, Brown holds key victories over UFC fighters Daniel Hooker and Damien Brown, however has not fought since losing to Greg Atzori in 2013. Fowler, on the other hand, is fresh off a head kick KO of Tony Dib just last month at AFC 16. The two fighters will square off at welterweight.
