Following his devastating knockout of Ruan Potts just last week at UFC Fight Night ‘Brown vs Silva’, ‘The Hulk’ Soa Palelei has booked himself a spot on Auckland’s UFC Fight Night ‘Te Huna vs Marquardt’ card opposite American fighter Jared Rosholt.

The latest addition to the event, which will take place on June 28 at the Vector Arena in Auckland, was announced by UFC officials Wednesday.

Also revealed, Anthony Perosh has been sidelined from the lineup due to a knee injury and in his place, Sean O’Connell steps up to face Gian Villante.

Palelei (21-3) will be searching for his eleventh straight victory in MMA and fourth under the UFC banner after defeating Nikita Krylov and Pat Barry before stopping Potts with ground-and-pound in the opening period.

Rosholt (10-1) has fought twice in the UFC and is currently riding a 6-fight win streak. After outpointed Walt Harris in his promotional debut he went on to win a unanimous points decision against Daniel Omielanczuk at UFC Fight Night ‘Minotauro vs Nelson’.

As previously announced, the promotion’s first endeavor to New Zealand will be headlined by a middleweight contest between James Te Huna and Nate Marquardt.

    Announced fights:

    • Nate Marquardt vs James Te Huna
    • Hatsu Hioki vs Charles Oliveira
    • Robert Whittaker vs Mike Rhodes
    • Soa Palelei vs Jared Rosholt
    • Sean O’Connell vs Gian Villante
    • Jon Delos Reyes vs Richie Vaculik
    • Chris Indich vs Vik Grujic
