Victorian promotion Hex Fight Series hits the Melbourne Pavilion this Friday night for what will arguably be the biggest show put together by the promotion. The thirteen fight line-up will be headlined by the highly anticipated middleweight grudge match between former UFC fighters, and former team mates, Brian Ebersole and Steven Kennedy.

If you can’t make it on the night you can catch a live stream of the event here at Go Fight Live. According to the promotion, punters will also have the opportunity to bet on the two headliner fights here at Ladbrokes.

There is genuine bad blood between the two main event fighters and it is the major reason for why the match has been put together and made into a reality. Fighting out of the Kickass MMA gym in Perth, Kennedy, 33, who boasts a professional record of 22-8, will be making his first appearance after being released by the UFC.

Ebersole had recently retired from the UFC after a four-year tenure in the promotion, but retirement was short-lived when he was offered the chance to fight his former student. Ebersole is fighting out of Melbourne’s Kimekai and holds an impressive professional record of 51-17-1. The 35 year-old detailed his side of the feud with Kennedy to Fight News Australia back in February.

The co-headliner will be an international rematch between former UFC fighter Frank Trevino and former Bellator fighter JJ Ambrose. In their last outing at Hex 5, Trevino edged out Ambrose for a split decision win. This time around, Ambrose will be aiming to settle the score against fellow American Trevino, while Trevino will no doubt be out to prove once again that he is the better fighter.

Among other fights on the card, hometown favourite and Kimekai representative Nick “Banjo” Patterson will take on American King of the Cage veteran and The Vault MMA product Daniel Hernandez. Highly touted Victorian Callan Potter from Renegade MMA is matched up against tough New Zealander Matiu Thoms fighting out of the renowned Strikeforce Gym.
