Flyweights Shane Parker and Ryan Robertson are set to headline this weekend’s Urban Fight Night 7 event in Western Sydney. All up, fourteen fights are slated for the event, which takes place on Saturday night at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
Fighting out of the fast-expanding Australian Top Team gym in Sydney, Parker, a former Commonwealth Games wrestler, is coming off a well-deserved unanimous points decision over Perth’s Justin Cobby at Urban Fight Night 6. Standing in his way on Saturday night will be another Perth native. Robertson, the head MMA coach at MMA 24/7 in Perth, has seen mixed results of late, however recently scored a submission win over Gigi M’Bala on a local WA event.
In the co-main event, undefeated Nova MMA featherweight Brad Shortland returns to the promotion to face Joshua Culibao from Igor MMA/ATT. The other pro fights scheduled for the night will see the unbeaten Trent Girdham come up against experienced bantamweight Craig Lankester while promising UFN regular James Najim faces Paul Traish at featherweight.
