Victorian based fighter Callan Potter (pictured right) will look to defend his Valor Welterweight Title for the first time when he comes up against Queensland based David Butt on February 15.

The two will headline the Valor 7 card to be held at the Albert Hall in Launceston, Tasmania.

Potter captured the Valor welterweight title by wining the four-man tournament held in June 2013. There, Potter stopped Damon Upton-Greer with punches only 8-seconds in to the fight before returning later in the night to submit Nick Denholm only 41-seconds into that fight.

Since then Potter has kept his winning streak going with a first-round submission over David De Conte in Adelaide and in his last outing, the Renegade MMA trained fighter stopped Troy Resic in December. A Valor veteran with five fights to his name under the promotion, David Butt will be hoping to dethrone Potter and is comes into the fight with a first-round TKO stoppage over Damon Upton-Greer.

In semi main event action, Valor veterans Nick Denholm and Chris Drummond will collide, while popular local favourite Shaun Etchell faces Henry Pollock and multiple time Muay Thai champion Nick Rundle makes his MMA debut against the undefeated Shaw Dean. Also on the under-card, women’s MMA fighter Christina Tatnell will look for his fourth straight win when she meets Belinda Sedgwick.
