Don’t expect a great deal of trash talk between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit ahead of their welterweight title fight showdown at UFC 193 on November 15 in Melbourne.

Both fighters are not traditionally known for pre-fight smack talk, however title challenger Carlos Condit is confident that the potential for extreme violence will help draw a good crowd at Etihad Stadium.

Condit spoke with MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani about the impending clash on this week’s MMA Hour.

Robbie and myself I don’t think either of us are big talkers. Hopefully we can draw enough of a crowd, build enough excitement just for the fact that we are exciting top level, extremely violent strikers and we are going to get in there and we are going to put on a fantastic show.

With talks of UFC 193 potentially housing up to 70,000 spectators on the day, Condit is excited to play a part in what could be the biggest event in UFC history.

It’s exciting you know, it goes without saying it’s a pretty exciting event and you know I feel like this is a culmination of my entire career you know in this big big big fight, big stadium, a massive event so definitely exciting.

Condit’s opponent, the champ, Robbie Lawler is coming off a fight of the year contender bout against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189, a fight which Lawler was victorious in by a bloody fifth round TKO.

Yeah I watched it live and I was blown away like a lot of people It was an incredible fight.

I’m always impressed when I watch the fights and when we signed the bout agreement the initial psychology for me is oh man what did I get myself into and how do I beat this guy.

When prompted further about whether he can see a path to victory over “Ruthless”, Condit replied.

Yeah he’s a man like anybody else. He’s got strengths and weaknesses. He’s extremely experienced, super skilled, he’s got great power. But you know I’m figuring it out.

Although Condit has just one fight to his name in a stacked division in the past 18 months, that being a doctor’s stoppage win over Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67 in Brazil, “The Natural Born Killer” believes that this fight is for the fans more so than the rankings.

Yeah I got a ton of great responses on Twitter and on social media. I think that’s why this fight makes sense. Rankings wise, yeah maybe it doesn’t but this is the fight that people want to see. This is going to be an exciting battle you know, they know Robbie and myself are both warriors, we’re at the top of our game and every time we step in the octagon we put on a show. That’s why this title fight makes sense.

Most fighters view traveling overseas to fight as a drawback, however Condit, who hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is not only fine with the change in time zone, he’s actually looking forward to it.

I think we are heading out second week of September. We’ll be out there for a few days.

And as far as going out to for fight week I don’t know it could be up to two weeks before depending how much media they’re going to have us do. I usually acclimate pretty easy, I always have a hard time coming back. My sleep schedule and everything is all messed up. But anytime that I’ve fought overseas I’ve acclimated pretty well and I’m actually looking forward to that aspect of the fight. I know that some guys have a hard time with you know with fighting overseas, acclimating to time all that stuff and I’ve done it so many times and been successful so many times at it that I feel like that’s an advantage for me.
