Tyson Harrison to face Muay Thai legend Seksan Or. Kwanmuang at ONE Lumpinee 1

Up-and-coming Muay Thai star Tyson Harrison has drawn a huge test for his ONE debut on January 20.

“John Wayne Noi” will take on Thai legend Seksan Or. Kwanmuang in a 63.5kg catchweight Muay Thai feature at the inaugural ONE Lumpinee event, set for the famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Lumpinee 1 is the first of the weekly events planned by ONE Championship in 2023, as the Singapore-based promotion looks to push deep into the Muay Thai market in the sport’s heartland.

Harrison has been making a name for himself in Thailand in recent years, basing himself at Tor Sangtiennoi Gym in Bangkok.

The Corporate Box representative took on another Thai legend in Lerdsila Chumpairtour in July 2021, and will now get his chance to impress under the ONE Championship banner.

Seksan is another new signing for ONE, but needs little introduction to Muay Thai fans.

“Robocop” has long been a staple of the stadium circuit in his native Thailand, has twice held the prestigious Rajadamnern Stadium Championship and is a former WBC Muay Thai World Champion.

Seksan now also has an opportunity to add another chapter to his storied career inside the Circle, starting with Harrison.

The 33-year-old has already clashed with several existing ONE Championship starts across his 238-fight career, including Rodtang Jitmuangnon (twice), Panpayak Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9.

A win for Harrison over a highly-credentialled veteran like Seksan would be a huge statement on debut and set the Queenslander up for a run at the gold in the newly-expanded ONE Muay Thai ranks, whether he settles in the flyweight or bantamweight division.

ONE Lumpinee 1 is headlined by longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, who will attempt to defend his title for the seventh time against Russian former bantamweight kickboxing king Alaverdi Ramazanov.

    ONE Lumpinee 1 Full Card:
