Two future Hall-of-Famers will meet for a third time this Sunday as Saul “Canelo” Alvarez faces Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin.

It’s been five years since they first met when the bout was declared a draw, despite popular opinion being that Golovkin may have done enough to edge the bout. The two met 12 months later and this time an improved Alvarez was able to take the majority decision victory. Both went their ways after that, unable to find a deal to fight for the third time.

Alvarez has stayed busy, losing just once in eight bouts, that coming in his last outing, as he attempted to move to light-heavyweight to take on Dmitrii Bivol. Golovkin, now aged 40, hasn’t been quite as busy, fighting just four times since 2018 with his last outing being a ninth-round TKO against Japanese fighter Ryota Murata.

All is on the line in this all-important third bout with Alvarez the hot favourite, paying 1.20 for the head-to-head win while Golovkin is a 5.20 outsider according to Unibet at the time of publishing.

How to watch Canelo vs Golovkin in Australia?

The card will be streamed exclusively in Australia on DAZN with it set as a pay-per-view event for the price of AU$44.99 on top of the monthly subscription.

The streaming service is a great addition to the combat sports broadcasting landscape and features a host of boxing’s biggest match-up.

Take the opportunity to sign up to DAZN here and watch hours of boxing for only $13.99 per month

What time will Canelo vs GGG take place in Australia?

The bout will take place in Las Vegas, USA, meaning it will be a Sunday event in Australia starting at 10am AEST.  The main event fighters are set to make their entrances at around 2pm AEST however as is the case with combat sports, these can change.
