The pound-for-pound king, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, returns to the boxing ring this weekend when he faces the formidable Krygyz-born Russian Dmitry Bivol.

A four-weight division world champion, ‘Canelo’ returns back to the light-heavyweight division as he faced his third consecutive undefeated opponent. The 31-year-old Mexican captured the WBO light-heavyweight title back in November 2019 when he stopped Sergey Kovalev. He will now look to dethrone Bivol for the WBA super light-heavyweight title.

Alvarez will go down as one of the best boxers of our generations with his lone loss coming at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr, early in his career back in 2013. Currently, Alvarez sports a 57-1, 2 draw record. Bivol brings a 19-0 record, with 11 by stoppage. In his last outing, he won a unanimous decision against Umar Salamov in Russia back in December however the majority of his bouts have taken place in the US.

How to watch Canelo vs Bivol in Australia?

The return of the pound-for-pound king will be streamed exclusively in Australia on DAZN.

The streaming service is a great addition to the combat sports broadcasting landscape and features a host of boxing’s biggest match-ups

Sign up to DAZN here and watch hours of boxing for only $13.99 per month

While DAZN has increased the subscription price to $13.99 monthly however considering blockbuster boxing bouts can cost in excess of $50, the monthly subscription price to watch some of the best in action, is still an absolute bargain

    Isn’t this PPV (Pay-per-view)?

While DAZN in the US and Canada has moved to a normal pay-per-view model, Australian DAZN subscribers will continue to get the bout as part of their normal monthly subscription.

What time will Canelo vs Bivol take place in Australia?

The bout will take place out of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the main card beginning from 11am AEST on Sunday, 8 May 2022. Early coverage, including prelims beings on DAZN from 6:30am
