Charles Joyner made the tough decision of leaving Australia last year in an attempt to progress his career in Europe. He has taken the next step securing his first victory on the weekend, winning his bout on the Fight Fest Championships card.

Joyner moved up to heavyweight to take on Romanian Nino Pattvean under K1 rules.

The Aussie had a fairly easy night in the ring, as he remained calm and composed throughout the contest as his opponent, could not work out how to close the distance against his much taller opponent.

Pattvean looked discouraged by the time he threw a kick in the second round. Joyner checked it and Pattvean dropped to the ground in agony which forced the fight to be called.

A former main training partner to the likes of Tyson Pedro and Tai Tuivasa, Joyner is on track to build a name of his own. With the win, he moved his record to kickboxing record 14-0.

Joyner has based himself out of Liverpool and is training out of the 4 Corners gym.
