Dana White on Adesanya vs Whittaker II “It’s the fight that makes sense”

According to UFC president Dana White, Robert Whittaker has earned a highly anticipated rematch against Israel Adesanya, after stopping Jared Cannonier’s run towards a title earlier this morning

Whittaker put a stamp on that number one contender position in the middleweight ranks with a unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 255 early this morning (AEDT), which took place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Whittaker was pin-point with his striking and avoided the heavy strikes that have served his American opponent so well in his last three UFC outings.

    Cage side, Dana White noticed.

“It’s very appealing to me!,” White responded to a question from MMA Junkie’s John Morgan at the UFC Press Conference.

“It’s the fight that makes sense right now. Adesanya has a lot of options but the fight that makes most sense right now is Whittaker.”

“I thought Cannonier was going to be a much tougher challenge for him (Whittaker). He looked good tonight so the Adesanya fight makes sense.”

Whittaker lost this middleweight title to Israel Adesanya back in October 2019 when he was knocked out in the second round in front of a record UFC crowd in Melbourne.
