Superfight 10 took place at the Croatian Club in Punchbowl, Sydney with a set of seven amateur and three pro fights.

The welterweight title was on the line in the main event with defending champion Corey Nelson taking on Team Perosh’s Andrew Mills.

Mills landed multiple takedowns throughout the five-rounder and controlled Nelson on the ground. Using side control to keep Nelson pinned to the mat was what Mills continued to do and was just too constant to allow Nelson any chance to get anything going on the feet, where “Major” is at his most dangerous.

Towards the end of the final round there were chants of “stand them up” from the crowd but Mills provided a dominant and succinct grappling display that was unable to be countered by the now former champ.

I don’t pick and choose my opponents, whoever’s next come and get it

After the fight, Mills thanked his team at Team Perosh MMA and when asked on what’s next he stated “I don’t pick and choose my opponents, whoever’s next come and get it,” to which David Francis, who won his fight earlier in the night, seemed to enjoy and replied from the crowd that he would like to challenge Mills for the belt next.

RESULT: Andrew Mills def. Corey Nelson via decision (Unanimous) – 50-45 x3

The featherweight championship was on the line in the co-main event with the HEX and Diamondback featherweight champion, Joshua Culibao, challenging to keep his undefeated record and claim an additional title against tough veteran Josh Payne.

Culibao landed an early leg kick that sent Payne to the ground before he quickly got up. Culibao landed a takedown soon after where Josh Payne was able to work his way back up to his feet. Engaging with shots against the cage, Culibao landed a punch that dropped Payne who once again jumped straight back up, which led to a straight right hand that finished the fight for Culibao.

I know (Dana White) he’s watching, there isn’t a lot of featherweights in Australia. UFC I’m here, give me my shot

Following the impressive victory, Culibao called to UFC President Dana White saying “I know he’s watching, there isn’t a lot of featherweights in Australia. UFC I’m here, give me my shot, I’m 8-0”.

RESULT: Joshua Culibao def. Josh Payne via KO, Rd 1

The professional portion of the card kicked off with fan favourite Joel Kendrick taking on David Francis in the welterweight division.

The fight started with the two feeling each other out until Kendrick threw a spinning back kick to the body to start the fight. Francis was able to grab the leg of Kendrick and land a takedown. On the ground Francis displayed great control and was able to scramble with Kendrick and catch him in a guillotine choke, causing Kendrick to tap in the opening frame.

RESULT: David Francis def. Joel Kendrick via Submission (Guillotine Choke), Rd 1

A free video replay of the event will be available Sunday, March 3 at 3pm (AEDT) at the promotion’s Facebook Page (link below).
