Another Kiwi has been added to the upcoming UFC event in Adelaide.

It has been revealed that Hamilton’s Luke Jumeau (13-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is set to take on American fighter Geoff Neal (10-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a welterweight contest. Stuff.co.nz was the first to report the news.

Jumeau has been nursing a hand injury for most of the year since defeating Daichi Abe in a thrilling bout at UFC 221 in Perth earlier this year. After having to undergo two surgeries to repair the injury, Jumeau is now fully fit and ready to get back inside the Octagon.

Jumeau’s opponent Geoff Neal has been extremely impressive since joining the UFC after picking up a contract when he won by first-round TKO on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.

Since then, he has gone on to defeat Brian Camozzi with a first-round rear naked choke before knocking out Frank Camacho with a head kick at UFC 228 this past September.

Jumeau will be looking to hand Neal his first loss inside the Octagon when they meet in Adelaide on December 2nd.  With both fighters not afraid to go toe-to-toe on the feet, the fight certainly has the potential to be the fight of the night.

“He’s a striker so I think we’ll both be looking to put on a show and try and knock each other out,” Jumeau told stuff.co.nz.

UFC Adelaide takes place on December 2nd at the Adelaide Entertainment Center. Tickets to the event are now available.
