Melbourne’s River Daz has earned himself a contract with global promotion Glory Kickboxing in a year in which he has continued his unbeaten run and also secured the much-coveted Australian WMC (World Muaythai Council) title.

The newly signed 8-fight contract will see the Australian potentially make his debut with the American promotion before the year’s end, if not at the start of 2019. The announcement was made last night at Warriors Way 22, where Daz won the 24th fight of his career in a battle against Perth’s Ben Cant.

It is not known yet whether the terms of his contract will allow him to fight outside of Glory, with a potential blockbuster matchup waiting back home for Daz in the form of Ramesh Habib who last night took out the 63.5kg 4-man tournament with a strong performance.

Daz will join the featherweight division in Glory where he will need to go up in weight to reach the division’s 65kg limit. Plenty of opponents await Daz as he joins the Glory roster, including Thai champion Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao, French standout Fabio Pinca or New Zealand’s Quade Taranki.

Amongst potential options is a rematch with number twelve ranked Mexican Diego Llamas, who Daz already holds a victory over following a stand-out performance in early 2017 at Lion Fight 34 in Las Vegas.
