In a potential fight of the year candidate, Australian muay thai’s king, Toby Smith (51-6-2) will take on the talented Kiwi Brad Riddell (60-9-0) in the main event of Powerplay 39 on Saturday, November 24th.

In what has been a busy year for both fighters, the two will meet in centre ring at the Melbourne Pavilion where the fight will take place under Smith’s preferred muay thai rule set.

On paper, the rules could heavily favour Smith, who is well known for his devastating elbows and strong clinch game, but the walk-forward approach of both fighters will mean those watching will be in for an absolute battle.

Riddell, while not having a lot of recent experience fighting under full muay thai rules, will not be phased by the need to add more weapons to his arsenal, as a lot of his current training efforts have been focussed on a transition over to MMA.

Also featuring on the card will be local favourites Chris Bradford, Kim-Alina Baldacchino, Quan Trinh, Tristan Papadopoulos and the return of the always entertaining Aaron Goodson.
