Jake Matthews impressive welterweight run shows no signs of slowing down.

Matthews put on a dominant display at UFC Singapore this evening, submitting his opponent Shinsho Anzai with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

Anzai shot for a takedown early in the fight and Matthews managed to land a hard knee on the Japanese fighter. Anzai then pressed Matthews and tied him up against the fence. As they broke away from the fence Matthews managed to land another hard knee before resetting in the middle of the cage. Matthews then managed to grab a Thai clinch and landed some nice uppercuts before taking Anzai down. With Anzai clearly hurt, Matthews reigned down elbows before he curled to his back. Matthews then quickly locked on a body triangle and sunk in the rear-naked choke, putting Anzai to sleep who refused to tap.
