Gold Coast based Reece McLaren will get another shot at One Championship glory, when he faces reigning flyweight champion Adriano Moraes at One: Visions of Victory on March 9.

The promotion confirmed the championship bout late last week and it will take place at Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur.

It will be the second time the 26-year-old McLaren (10-5) will challenge for a One Championship bout after being edged via split decision by One Championship bantamweight title holder Bibiano Fernandes back in December 2016. A follow-up loss to Kevin Belingon had McLaren drop to the flyweight division.

He returned in style, submitting Anatpong Bunrad in the opening round back in November. The win and his impressive and entertaining prior performances was enough for McLaren to be given a shot at Moraes.

The Brazilian fighter brings an impressive 17-2 record. It’s his second reign as the promotions flyweight title having lost the belt in a split points decision to Kairat Akhmetov back in 2015. In their rematch last August, Moraes made sure of it, winning a unanimous decision to reclaim his title.
