Kiwi muay thai fighters Alexi Serepisos (40-10) and Slava Alexeichik (30-8) were given a special gift for Christmas this year, with both fighters booked to make their North American debut on Lion Fight 40.

Taking place at the Foxwoods Casino Resort in Connecticut on Saturday 3rd February, Serepisos and Alexeichik will also challenge for the Lion Fight Lightweight and Cruiserweight World Titles in the night’s semi-main and main events.

Serepisos returns to the ring after a decision loss in a late-notice boxing bout against Melbourne fighter Kenny Tsee, while Alexeichik is riding high after taking out the ‘King In The Ring’ 8-man Cruiserweight tournament in November.

A two-time world champion who has trained and fought throughout Asia, Serepisos has a mountain to climb to take the title back to New Zealand as he faces the incredibly experienced Thai Lerdsila PhuketTopTeam (186-31-5). Currently, on an eight-fight win streak, Lerdsila is a former Rajadamnern Champion and is looking to further make his mark in the American market following a head kick knockout victory at Lion Fight 36.

Standing between Alexeichik and further glory is current Lionfight and Muaythai Grandprix World Champion, Chip Moraza-Pollard (6-0). Moraza-Pollard is fresh off a victory against British fighter Jordan Smith in November, and while his professional record pales in comparison, will be a tough opponent for the Siberian-born Alexeichik.

Also featuring on the card will be the promotion’s first-ever North American title fight between Brett Hlavacek and Elijah Clarke.

    Fight Card:

    • Chip Moraza-Pollard vs Slava Alexeichik (New Zealand) – Lion Fight World Cruiserweight Title
    • Lerdsila PhuketTopTeam vs Alexi Serepisos (New Zealand) – Lion Fight World Lightweight Title
    • Brett Hlavacek vs Elijah Clarke – Lion Fight North American Light Heavyweight Title
    • Steve Walker vs Cole Fetzner
    • Julio Pena vs Isaac Tijerina
    • Cris Mims vs PJ Sweda
    • Brian Bogue vs Cody Laskar
    • Mike Triana vs Johncy Lindor
    • Tom Evans vs Tollison Lewis
