New Zealand welterweight Luke Jumeau (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has hit the scales at 170 pounds (77.1 kg) for his bout at UFC Fight Night Japan tomorrow

Jumeau is up against local fighter Shinsho Anzai (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) with the contest taking place at the famed Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo Japan.  Anzai weighed in at 171 pounds (77.5 kg).

Jumeau made his promotional debut in the UFC this past June in Auckland where he defeated Dominique Steele by unanimous decision.

Based in Hamilton, Jumeau is only the second fighter from New Zealand who has made his way to the UFC by training almost entirely in his home country. He continues to work full time as panel beater and spends the week training out of Hamilton’s Core MMA. He also often heads to City Kickboxing in Auckland most weekends where he can train with fellow Kiwi UFC fighter Dan Hooker.

Jumeau has won his last seven straight fights and will be looking to put on an impressive performance against Anzai who has only fought twice since joining the UFC in 2014.

Despite his upcoming contest, Jumeau has stated that he is eager for a quick turnaround to fight on the upcoming UFC Sydney card where he would like to avenge his last career loss against Jake Matthews.

Jumeau’s fight will take place on the preliminary card scheduled to take place at 10am AEST time.

UFC Fight Night Japan is headlined with a light-heavyweight bout between Ovince Saint Preux and Yushin Okami. The main card starts at 12pm AEST time.
