    Live play-by-play of Chambers vs Esquibel, Hyatt vs Cive & Muxlow vs Santos

    A total of three Aussie Female MMA fighters are scheduled to compete in Invicta Fighting Championships 5 event scheduled to be held at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. Alex Chambers and Fiona Muxlow will make their promotional debut while Bec Hyatt returns and will be hoping to get her first win in the promotion after losing in the main event of Invicta FC 4 to champion Carla Esparza.

    A lot of eyes will be on Fiona Muxlow as the Townsville based fighter who has spent time training at Tiger Muay-Thai recently comes up against Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos. Alex Chambers will be looking at making a statement when she faces the undefeated Jodie Esquibel.

    Join Fight News Australia as we bring you the play-by-play action of the fight as it happens on Saturday (Friday night in Missouri, USA). The action is set to kick off at early Saturday morning with a few fights separating the Australians on the card.

    Alex Chambers (3-1) vs Jodie Esquibel (3-0)

    Round 1:
    Esquibel starts the fight with a left hook followed by a leg kick before the Aussie Chambers secured the take-down. Chambers immediately takes the back, as Esquibel turns and ends up in top in half-guard. Chambers transitions in half-guard to get her hooks in again and this time since the rear-naked choke to get the victory Win came at 1:35 of the first round.

    Bec Hyatt (4-2) vs Jasminka Cive (5-0)

    Round 1:
    Fighters don’t touch gloves as the fight begins. Cive lands with a right, but Hyatt returns with some punches of her own, clinches with Cive and gets the slam take-down. Hyatt on top where she was able to move to the mount position. Postures up and barrages down with punches and elbows. Hard punches being rained down by Hyatt as Cive struggling to escape. Great top control from Hyatt in the high mount. Hyatt attacks the arm to secure the belly down armbar for the tap. Cive immediately attempts to congratulate Hyatt, but the Aussie was not having anything of it. Moments later, Hyatt reluctantly shook hands with Cive.

    Fiona Muxlow (6-2) vs Cristiane Santos (10-1)

    Round 1:
    Santos connects early that drops Muxlow early in the fight. Muxlow stands back up only to be connected with some further shots. Muxlow on her back with Santos connecting with big shots from the top. Muxlow stands but is connected with big pucnhes. Muxlow desperately trying to get a take-down but the barrage of punches continues. Santos looking at taking the back. Muxlow’s face is bloody as she stands back up. Santos gets the clinch, lands a couple of knees. Separates and strikes with referee saving Muxlow from any further punishment.
