Mark Hunt has officially filed civil charges against the UFC, Brock Lesnar and UFC President Dana White seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
The hard-hitting heavy weight has not stepped inside the Octagon since losing at UFC 200 to Brock Lesnar who later tested positive to a banned substance in a pre-fight drug test however the results were not revealed until after the July bout.
Understandably so the Super Samoan has been extremely frustrated and vocal about putting a stop to drug cheats and ensuring harsher penalties are applied to those who fail to comply – namely by requesting a ‘cheaters clause’ be added to his contract. It appears on the surface that little headway may have been made in his regard with Hunt continuing to take matters into his own hands by formally sueing the promotion for Lesnar’s entire $2.5m purse plus the PPV figure earnt from the event stating in an interview with markhunt.tv that “cheaters deserve nothing.”
Hunt is scheduled to fight Alistair Overeem at UFC 209 in Las Vegas in March however it is unknown at this time whether this will go ahead. The UFC is yet to make comment.
