The UFC has announced that Australian subscribers to it’s UFC Fight Pass video platform will now be able to watch more live events, including UFC Pay-Per-View prelims, UFC Fight Night prelims and main cards.
Previously, UFC Fight night main cards were blacked out for Australian viewers with Fox Sports Australia holding exclusive rights to the events however it looks like UFC officials has renegotiated a new agreement which came into effect on July 1.
The news was confirmed in an email sent out to Australian users on Thursday.
For those who still want to watch cards on subscription television, don’t fear as they will continue to be televised on Fox Sports Australia and Mainevent, apart from the UFC Fight Pass prelim bouts.
Also recently announced by the UFC Fight Pass team is a new Fight Pass 24/7 linear streaming channel which will be the go to place for live events and the premier of original programming.
Started Martial Arts training after watching Mr Miyagi and Daniel-son in Karate Kid back in 1987. When the sport of MMA arrived many years later, it was a natural progression. Coverage of local MMA was via scarce posts on forums like the Underground and Sherdog. I embarked on covering the sport in 2002 and since then have written thousands of articles for both print and online media, before branching out and starting Fight News Australia in 2010. Outside the site, I dream of racing an F1 car and hiking the Swiss Alps. Most of all, my family is numero uno.
