The UFC confirmed two more bouts for UFC Auckland on Wednesday, finalising the 12-fight card. At light-heavyweight Ion Cutelaba meets Luis Henrique da Silva while Dong Hyun Kim and Thibault Gouti clash at lightweight.
UFC Fight Night 110 takes place in Auckland, New Zealand on June 11 and is headlined by a heavyweight clash of hard-hitting sluggers Mark Hunt and Derrick Lewis.
The bout between Cutelaba and da Silva is part of a six-fight main card that also includes a middleweight bout between Derek Brunson and four-time Olympian Dan Kelly, and a lightweight scrap pitting home city favourite Dan Hooker against The Ultimate Fighter Nine winner Ross Pearson.
Cutelaba has found life tough in the UFC. A decision win against Jonathan Wilson is sandwiched in between defeats to Misha Cirkunov and Jared Cannonier.
Henrique da Silva has experienced similar struggles inside the octagon. After winning his first two against Wilson and Joachim Christensen, the Brazilian has now lost his last two against Paul Craig and Jordan Johnson.
Both lightweights added to the card may be fighting for their spots on the UFC roster as well. Gouti has lost in all three of his UFC outings, while Kim’s promotional record sits at 1-2.
In total, the full lineup includes six athletes fighting out of Australia. It would have been seven had UFC newcomer Nadia Kassem not been forced out of her bout with J.J. Aldrich due to injury.
The event is only the second time the UFC have promoted in New Zealand. In June 2014 Nate Marquardt submitted James Te Huna in the main event of a card that included Soa Palelei, Robert Whittaker and Jake Matthews.
