Eternal MMA 27: Vendy vs Fitikefu headline card

A middleweight bout between Darcy Vendy and Isi Fitikefu headlines Eternal MMA 27 this Saturday as they clash for the promotions vacant middleweight title.

The event takes place at the Mansfield Tavern in Queensland, Australia.

Vendy (2-1) will be looking at adding the Eternal title, after capturing the middleweight crown in Eternal’s sister promotion, Reign Fighting – back in November. Vendy overcame Jacob Holyman-Tague to secure the belt in the third round. Prior to that Vendy secured a win over talented youngster Jack Della. His lone loss came in his professional debut at the hands of Matt Eland.

Fitikefu (2-0) will be looking at securing the biggest win of his short career as he returns to action for the first time in 24-months. The PMA trained fighter has wins over Michele Evans, Nathan Luff as well as a split decision victory against Andrew Mills in the amateur ranks

Southside Arena trained Diego Pereira is 3-0 within Eternal promotion but has not found the same success outside the promotion, losing against Beau Luxford and Ryan Lambert which was his last outing back in April. Wins have come against Aaron Zambelli, George Malizis and an impressive 9-second knock-out over Nix Agulto back in 2015.

Pereira will come up against Justin Van Heerden from Mackay MMA in a lightweight contest.

Van Heerden made his professional debut last month, effectively submitting Aaron Fisher at Eternal MMA 26. The win was his third in just this year, after winning a pair of fights as an amateur.

Started Martial Arts training after watching Mr Miyagi and Danielson in Karate Kid back in 1987. When the sport of MMA arrived it was a natural progression and I quickly discovered that the only mention of local MMA was via scarce posts on forums like the Underground and Sherdog. I embarked on covering the sport in 2002 and since then have written thousands of articles for both print and online media, before branching out and starting Fight News Australia in 2010. Outside the site, I dream of kicking the winning goal for Brisbane Roar, flying a jet plane, racing a F1 car and hiking the Swiss Alps. My family is numero uno.
