CFC_16_-_25_March_2011Hector Lombard continued his impressive undefeated streak going by defeating former UFC veteran Joe Doerkson earlier tonight at Cage Fighting Championships 16 held at Luna Park in Sydney, NSW.

Lombard scored his 17th win in a row when the doctor halted the action at the 4:13 mark of the opening round.

Lombard's next challenge will be against another UFC veteran when he meets Falaniko Vitale at Bellator 44 on May 14.

 
In the semi main event Manuel Rodriguez walked away with the unanimous decision over New zealand fighter Rodney MacSwain. It was Rodriguez's second victory over MacSwain after edging out a majority decision win at CFC 14 (Correction: Apologies it was overturn to a draw). With the win, Rodriguez is expected to challenge CFC Welterweight Champion Jesse Juarez in the near future.

In other results Josh Payne made quick work of Jason Harris submitting his opponent with an armbar at 3:56 of round one while Nick Honstein made a statement by defeating Matt Wilkin with a rear-naked choke at 1:02 of round two.
