Former UFC fighter Ben Alloway’s three fight win streak was halted earlier today when he suffered a loss to Russian prospect Sharaf Davlatmurodov.

The bout took place on the Absolute Championship Berkut 41 card which was held at the Adler Arena in Sochi, Russia.

The Gold Coast based fighter did secure an early takedown after catching a body-kick from the Russian. With feet on the hips, Davlatmurodov kicked out and got back to his feet where he started to utilise kicks to the legs and body. Alloway ducked under a spinning back-fist which allowed Alloway to secure a standing single-leg. Sporting the Phuket Top Team on his trunks the Russian again went to work from the outside.

Davlatmurodov upped the tempo in the second-round however did end up on his back after slipping while attempting a kick. Alloway immediately jumped off but again was kicked off as Davlatmurodov got back to his feet. The Russian clipped Alloway with a round kick to the body which immediately wounded Alloway who went down to one knee. Davlatmurodov landed another strike before the referee halted the contest.

The official time of the stoppage was 2:39 of the second round with Davlatmurodov, who only started his professional career 11-months ago, moving his professional MMA record to 10-0 with one draw.

In the main event of the night, Russian heavyweight Denis Goltsov scored a first round head-kick knockout over former UFC fighter Paul Buentello to take his record to 18-4.
