Brisbane based Adrian Pang makes his return against former UFC and Bellator veteran Roger Huerta at One Championship: Defending Honor this Friday night. The event takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
In his last outing with the promotion in August, Pang fell to a decision against explosive Filipino fighter Eduard Folyang and will be eager to prove himself as a title challenger. His opponent Huerta is coming off two losses with the promotion.
Both experienced competitors hold virtually identical records against credible competition, Pang (22-9-2) and Huerta (22-9-1) look to be a perfect match-up on paper. The winner of the high profile bout will surely be put on top of the heap of the lightweight division.
The main-event will be headlined by the lightweight title being put on the line with current champion Shinya Aoki of Japan, taking on Eduard Folayang of the Philippines.
Folayang, a striker (16-5) has shown great improvement in his grappling game and is on a two fight win streak. Aoki (39-6) is world renowned for his grappling pedigree and has accumulated an impressive ten fight win streak with his most recent loss coming at the hands of current UFC lightweight title holder Eddie Alvarez in 2012 at Bellator 66.
Another title match will be contested in the semi-main event, with undefeated Russian Marat Gafurov being put up against Mongolian MMA pioneer Jadamba Narantungalag in the featherweight division.
Gafurov (14-0) submitted Narantungalag in their previous meeting for the title last year. Narantungalag (12-4) will be looking to get even against his adversary, as he battles it out for the One Featherweight title.
